As a part of our strategy to fulfill our church mission statement to love God, love people, make disciples, I am planning to lead a 10-day trip to the Holy Land in November, 2011. We will grow in our love for God by walking where Jesus walked, we will grow in our love for one another by sharing this once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we will grow as disciples by learning more about the land and culture of the Bible. We will visit places where Jesus walked, lived, taught, and performed miracles. We will stand where He was crucified and where he rose from the dead. We will take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, take communion at the Garden Tomb, and share a baptismal service in the Jordan river.
I'm very excited to announce that I have contracted with Jerusalem Tours International for this trip. They are a first-class, top-rated Holy Land tour company. Southeast Christian Church used them recently and Pastor Dave Stone recommends them highly. In my research to find the right company, I discovered that many companies try to mask the "real cost" of the trip. They will quote a low rate that does not include some of the basic things like airfare, food, taxes, fuel costs, tips, travel insurance, etc. This company does their very best to show you the "real cost" up front, so there are no surprises and so you know how much to set aside for the trip.
I asked Jerusalem Tours International to place us in 4 and 5-star hotels throughout the trip. Keep in mind that "5-star" abroad does not mean exactly the same as it does in America, but the accommodations will be excellent. My wife's boss went with Southeast Christian Church on their recent trip and he described his experience as "life changing." He was especially impressed with the people of Jerusalem Tours International.
